International
guests will experience the warm welcome of the Big Easy as
they enjoy a wealth of educational benefits at the College’s
53rd Annual Scientific Session. Join the ACC for a meeting
designed to be a truly international exchange, with cardiologists
from around the world sharing case studies, insights, and
new developments, linking pathophysiology, diagnosis, and
treatment advances that have occurred in the past year.
The
program places special emphasis on the international cardiovascular
community, particularly in developing countries. And it all
takes place in one of the most engaging locations in the United
States. Mild temperatures, colorful locals, the French Quarter,
and legendary nightlife make New Orleans a destination to
remember. Plus, you’ll find world-class dining, hotels,
and a state-of-the-art convention center to make your travel
convenient and enjoyable.
Request Letters of Invitation, for visa purposes, from the
ACC Resource Center, at 800-253-4636, ext. 694, or 301-897-2694.
IMPORTANT
VISA INFORMATION! Please allow plenty of time for

NEW!
The United States has recently adopted new security measures
at airports and seaports designed to protect the safety of
U.S. citizens and international visitors. The U.S. Department
of Homeland Security promises that these new measures will
be quick and efficient, requiring no more than seconds in
most cases. For more information, visit http://www.dhs.gov/us-visit.
International
Visitors Shop Tax Free!
International visitors to ACC ’04 will find a shopping
paradise in New Orleans. Louisiana is the only state in the
United States that provides sales tax refunds for international
shoppers.
Not
to be confused with “duty free” shops at international
departure terminals in airports, Louisiana Tax Free Shopping
is available at well-known retail stores like Saks Fifth Avenue,
Lord and Taylor, Coach, Macy’s, JC Penney, The Gap,
Sears, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart. Other department stores,
jewelry stores, art and antique shops, and hundreds of specialty
shops throughout the state are Tax Free, as are all major
shopping centers in the New Orleans area.
To
receive a sales tax refund, you must be an international visitor
in the U.S. for less than 90 days. Have your passport handy,
and shop in stores that are members of the Tax Free Shopping
program. To receive a Tax Free Shopping Guide free of charge,
call, fax, e-mail, or log on to our Web site. Thank you for
shopping in Louisiana!
