PROGRAM OVERVIEW
ABIM Recertification Made Easy
An Interactive Learning Experience — Directed by expert faculty
Statement of Need
The evolving requirements for Board Certification and Maintenance of Certification are spurred by physician leaders who agree that there exists a need to ensure and demonstrate to the public that medical professionals remain highly skilled and knowledgeable throughout their careers.
Program Overview To aid physicians' certification and recertification needs, the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF) offers the Study Session for Maintenance of Certification program. Learn in an interactive environment as clinical experts lead you through the 60 case-based questions that comprise ABIM’s Cardiovascular Medical Knowledge Module 21-R. This study session offers an opportunity to weigh the evidence on a case-by-case basis as you discuss the options with expert faculty and your fellow participants to identify the most appropriate answers to the ABIM questions.
A highlight of this program is the opportunity to compare your answers to those of the experts and your peers, anonymously, using an audience response system. And at the end of the program, simply submit your answers directly to the ABIM and earn 20 knowledge-based points toward Maintenance of Certification. Please refer to the ABIM Information section for additional information on how to submit your answers.
To participate in this session you must enroll in ABIM’s Maintenance of Certification Program.
ABIM Diplomates may enroll in Maintenance of Certification (ABIM’s recertification program) by visiting the web site www.abim.org (Physician Login).
All questions regarding recertification eligibility should be referred to the ABIM.
Learner Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to -
- Improve clinical decision-making skills
- Apply effective strategies to successfully meet Maintenance of Certification requirements
- Satisfy a self-evaluation of medical knowledge requirement for ABIM recertification
Before registering for this ACCF Study Session, please check your ABIM profile at www.abim.org/online/ to confirm that Module 21-R is not one that you have previously completed. ACCF does not keep personal records of modules completed through ABIM. Participants who register for the ACCF Study Session are responsible for confirming their ABIM credits and will not receive a refund from ACCF for a study session on a module you have completed previously through ABIM if cancellation occurs less than 24 hours before the start of the program. Please refer to the Cancellations section for additional information.
