PROGRAM
OVERVIEW
This exciting four-day conference will provide participants with an understanding of the principles and clinical utility of magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography in the management of patients with cardiovascular disease. The program features an in-depth look at basic and advanced clinical information presented through a combination of lectures, case presentations, panel discussions, workshops and hands-on lab sessions (using workstations). Participants will also benefit from sit-down sessions with faculty renowned for their wealth of clinical practice and investigative science expertise.
Objectives
Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to -
- Recognize the fundamental physical and technical principles
used to acquire CCT and CMR images
- Identify CMR applications for assessing ventricular size, morphology and function, valvular and congenital heart disease, and myocardial perfusion
- Outline the utility of CCT and CMR for detecting myocardial ischemia and viability
- Recognize the strengths and limitations of CCT and CMR for assessing the coronary and peripheral circulation
- Compare the merits of CCT relative to CMR in the assessment of the coronary circulation
- Summarize the newest interventional and plaque imaging applications of CCT and CMR
- State the practical issues underlying the practice of CCT and CMR, including technology requirements, credentialing and reimbursement
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the requirements and techniques for interpreting CCT and CMR case studies

Overview
Upon completion of the course, technologists will have a fundamental
understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology and pathology.
Technologists will also have a basic understanding of simple to
