Opening Keynote Address
Health IT has become more prominent then ever before
in the public sphere. With the passage in February 2009 of
the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the country gained
the tools to begin a major transformation in the U.S. health
care system through the creation of a secure, interoperable
nationwide health information network. Leading this effort
is the National Coordinator for Health IT, David Blumenthal,
M.D., M.P.P., who will discuss the great possibilities -and
the inherent challenges - ahead of us during the road to mass
health IT adoption. Speakers:
David Blumenthal, M.D., M.P.P., National
Coordinator for Health IT
Introduction by Jack Lewin, M.D., ACC CEO
