ACC Informatics Committee Charge

The ACC Informatics Committee is responsible for coordinating the health informatics activities and policies of the College. On May 6, 2007, members of the ACC Informatics Workgroup were invited to Heart House to participate in a workshop in preparation of the creation of this committee. At that time, the group drafted the following vision statement:

The ACC Informatics Committee will support health information technology to promote quality in cardiovascular health, through the following:

• Infrastructure, interoperability and lexicon (variables of care and standards)
• EHR Adoption (education, advocacy)
• Tools (data registries, decision support, quality improvement, reporting)
• Leadership (outreach)
