The ACC and Paragon Health have announced a strategic partnership. Paragon
Health provides management services for cardiology practices nationwide
and is a leader in performance improvement.
The ACC recognizes the importance of identifying solutions to improve
members' daily practice operations.

Paragon not only has experience in directly managing cardiology groups
and hospital cardiovascular service lines, but also has extensive field
experience in assisting cardiovascular providers throughout the United
States on a wide range of issues critical to contemporary success. Paragon’s
services are delivered through four products: Paragon Executive, Paragon
Complete, Paragon Executive Recruitment & Paragon Consulting.
Paragon Offerings
Paragon Executive
The governance, strategic, regulatory, financial, staffing, and operational
complexities facing the modern American cardiology practice are greater
now than ever. Paragon provides Executive Director level services to the
cardiology practice through a "Management Services Agreement".
A Paragon employed Executive Director is recruited and hired in partnership
with the local practice, and lives in the local community. The local Executive
Director assumes responsibility for all of the administrative functions
of the practice. The local Executive Director is accountable to the local
cardiology practice Board of Directors & Paragon, is offered full
national support and training by Paragon, and is charged with bringing
the full resources of Paragon to bear on behalf of the practice. Paragon
Executive includes regular visits by Paragon Corporate Officers, as well
as full-time local Executive Director support.
Paragon Complete
Paragon Executive essentially places one Paragon Executive on site. Paragon
Complete is designed for the cardiology practice that wants to outsource
ALL administrative functions, and includes the following services: (1)
Paragon Executive, (2) accounts receivable-business office functions,
(3) accounting-financial services, (4) human resource-benefits administration
functions, and, (5) information systems planning and hardware/software
strategic support. Paragon offers an option to employ the local staff
through a "Professional Employer Organization" (PEO), which
allows for streamlined HR management and benefits cost savings. Paragon
either offers directly, or has partnered with "best in class"
national players to provide this truly unique and comprehensive service
- the only service of its kind dedicated uniquely to cardiology practices.
Paragon Executive Placement
It is estimated that 20-25% of cardiology practice Executive Directors
turn over each year. Executive Director turn-over is very disruptive not
only to the Executive Director, but also to the cardiology practice. Paragon
Executive Placement is meant to provide a medium that will match the needs
of qualified ED’s with those of qualified cardiology practices,
to the benefit of both. The fees charged for this service are very modest
relative to traditional Executive Placement Agencies.
