Standards of Physical Fitness of Aircrew
November 6-7, 1965
Published: Oct 1966 American Journal of Cardiology
In 1965, with the age of pilots steadily advancing,
allowing them to maintain their commercial licenses
until 60 years of age, there was greater tendency of
atherosclerosis with resulting cerebral and myocardial
catastrophic events. This Conference reviewed the cardiovascular
standards of physical fitness to ascertain how air flight
catastrophes might be prevented.
