ACC/AHA 2002 Guideline Update for the Management of Patients with Chronic Stable Angina

These guidelines have been reviewed over the course of the past 3 years since their initial publication (Full Text—J Am Coll Cardiol 1999;33:2092-197; Executive Summary—Circulation 1999;99:2829-48). This update is based on the most significant advances in the management of patients with chronic stable angina, including patients presenting with asymptomatic coronary artery disease, that have been published during that time frame. These guidelines are also available on the Web sites of both the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. Deleted text is indicated by strikeout, and revised text is highlighted in brown.

Copies of the full-text guideline incorporating the revisions (not showing strikeout and underlined text) are also available on the ACC and AHA Web sites. A summary article highlighting the changes to the guideline from 1999 to 2002 will be published in the January 1, 2003 issue of Journal of the American College of Cardiology and the January 7/14, 2003 issue of Circulation.
