ACC/AHA 2002 Guideline Update for the Management of Patients with Unstable Angina and Non–ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction

These guidelines have been reviewed over the course of the past 1 and 1/2 years since their initial publication in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, (Full Text—J Am Coll Cardiol 2000;36:970-1056; Executive Summary—Circulation 2000;102:1193-1209). This update is based on the most significant advances in the management of patients with unstable angina and non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction that have been published during that time frame. These guidelines are also available on the Web sites of both the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. Deleted text is indicated by strikeout, and revised text is highlighted in brown.

Copies of the full-text guideline incorporating the revisions (not showing strikeout and underlined text) are also available on the ACC and AHA Web sites. A summary article highlighting the changes to the guideline from 2000 to 2002 will be published in the October 1 issue of Circulation and the October 2 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
