Top Journal Scans and Clinical Trials for 2015
Journal Scans
Kim A. Eagle, MD, MACC
Editor-in-Chief, ACC.org
By year’s end, the journal scan feature of ACC.org will have seen more than 300,000 unique visits in 2015. As you would expect, the Top 10 most visited journal scans surround a few clinical themes: anticoagulation in atrial fibrillation, antiplatelet therapies in CAD, and advances in interventional/structural heart treatments. Each of these areas represent common clinical conditions where there are rapid advances in treatment and for whom appropriate assimilation of these new treatments into daily practice is a challenge. ACC.org continues to seek ways to rapidly and concisely share these advances with our members.

Clinical Trials
Deepak L. Bhatt, MD, MPH, FACC
Senior Associate Editor, Clinical Trials and News, ACC.org
As a service to its members and the cardiovascular community, ACC.org has been covering the most important clinical trials. In 2015, several landmark studies were presented or published. We have compiled a list of the Top 10 trials for 2015 based upon the number of page views. There were close to 100,000 views, reflecting the great interest in trial results. The number one spot went to the PEGASUS-TIMI 54 trial, PROMISE came in second, and SPRINT came in third. Rounding out the Top Ten were TOTAL, RIVER-PCI, MATRIX (bivalirudin versus heparin arm), FIGHT, OPTIDUAL, ALBATROSS, and MATRIX (radial versus femoral arm). These trials represent a diverse array of topics, illustrating the broad interests of our readers.
