Poll: IV Antiplatelets for Cardiac Stents in Noncardiac Surgery
It is estimated that about 5-10 % of patients with coronary stents undergo noncardiac surgery within 1 year of stent implantation. Management of these patients requires consideration of the competing risks of acute coronary events with premature cessation of antiplatelet therapy versus bleeding with continuation of antiplatelet therapy.
