House Passes ACE Kids Act

On Dec. 11, the House of Representatives voted 400-11 to pass the Advancing Care for Exceptional Kids Act (ACE)as part of the larger health care package, the IMPROVE Act (H.R. 7217). The ACE Kids Act would allow state Medicaid programs to use a health home model to coordinate care for children with medically complex conditions. ACC sent a letter of support to House and Senate champions of ACE Kids in August. The letter was written and distributed in coordination with the Children's Hospital Association, an advocacy partner of ACC and an important voice in the effort of advancing child health. ACC's Adult Congenital and Pediatric Cardiology (ACPC) Advocacy Work Group has also historically supported this piece of legislation. The IMPROVE Act is now being considered in the Senate. ACC staff will provide further updates as they become available.
