ACC's family of JACC Journals continues to grow and innovate – setting the bar for what it means to be global cardiovascular journals.

Over the past two years, the journals have brought on a team of International Advisors from Asia, South America and Europe; launched translated editions of JACC in Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese; established an engaged and growing global network on social media; and is offering continuing medical education (CME), maintenance of certification (MOC) and European CME (ECME) credits for journal-related activities.

These additions – coupled with activities like podcasts, central illustrations and concerted efforts to engage Fellows in Training, Early Career Professionals and international researchers – are helping to ensure JACC Journals remain among the most clinically relevant, most read and most cited cardiovascular journals around the world.

"Any journal can claim a 'global' presence; however, we believe that we have an obligation to interact and engage with our global cardiovascular colleagues to ensure we are best serving their needs," wrote JACC Editor-in-Chief Valentin Fuster, MD, PhD, MACC, and ACC Executive Vice President William J. Oetgen, MD, MBA, FACC, in a recent editorial.

This interaction and engagement will only continue to grow in the coming year and beyond. At ACC.19 the journals have simultaneously published 23 manuscripts, three of which are Late-Breaking Clinical Trials. Additionally, JACC Journals are sponsoring several sessions ranging from today's "Social Media for Today's Cardiologist," taking place at noon in the Heart 2 Heart Stage in the Lounge & Learn Pavilion, to the "Best of JACC Journals and Eugene Braunwald Keynote," taking place tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. in the Main Tent (Great Hall).

Outside of ACC.19, the College is launching two new online, open-access journals – JACC: CardioOncology and JACC: Case Reports – led by dynamic editors-in-chief, Bonnie Ky, MD, FACC, and Julia Grapsa, MD, PhD, FACC, respectively.

Ky and Grapsa, the first women to serve as editors-in-chief of JACC Journals, have exciting plans for the new journals to further advance and optimize cardiovascular care and research. JACC: Case Reports is launching its submission site tomorrow, and JACC: CardioOncology will be launching its submission site next month.

"My vision for JACC: CardioOncology is for the journal to play a vital and transformative role in advancing the cardiovascular care of a growing cancer population through the dissemination of knowledge and the education of providers who care for cancer patients," said Ky.

"I am honored to be joining this new venture," said Grapsa. "It is a privilege for me to be able to work with some of the leading cardiologists of our generation worldwide and be a part of the JACC Journals family."

With the addition of JACC: CardioOncology and JACC: Case Reports, the JACC Journals family now totals eight journals. JACC, JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions, JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology, and JACC: Heart Failure are available in print and online, while JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging and JACC: Basic to Translational Science are online only.
