CMS Releases Inpatient Hospital Proposed Rule

On April 23, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the fiscal year 2020 inpatient hospital proposed rule. The proposed rule includes payment rates for inpatient stays based on patients' diagnosis and illness severity. CMS estimates an increase in inpatient payments of 3.7 percent.
