Poll Results: Real-World Colchicine Use

In a recent poll, there was a relatively even split on the use of colchicine after acute coronary syndromes, with 43% indicating that they would routinely use it in most patients, and 49% indicating that they would not due to concerns over the noncardiac mortality. A small minority, 8%, indicated that they would use colchicine routinely if the patient had insurance. Colchicine was previously generic, but the price spiked dramatically a few years ago and can now cost over $200 a month for patients who do not insurance.
