ACC Message of Support As New COVID Waves Hit Countries Worldwide
As countries in the Americas, Southern East Asia, and Europe battle swift and devastating new waves of the COVID-19 virus, the American College of Cardiology stands with all those on the ground struggling to quell the inexorable spread that is taking more than 10,000 lives every day and stretching every health system to capacity.
There is no doubt many cardiovascular patients and members of the College are among those affected by the ongoing global pandemic. Yet, while personally impacted, there are so many stories of our members and health care professionals from across the care team serving on the front lines to help patients and their communities, at great personal risk and tireless dedication, despite dwindling resources and seemingly overwhelming odds. This is the spirit of our members, and this is the spirit of the ACC.
A global pandemic requires global support and global action. The ACC, working with our International Chapters and global partners, is committed to continuing to provide clinicians and patients with resources and tools to help weather the latest chapter in this global tragedy. Whether it’s translating patient resources, offering the latest in COVID-19 research and guidance, or providing opportunities for clinicians to share best practices and lessons learned, we will not cease in our efforts to help clinicians do what they do best – help and heal.
We extend our deepest sympathies to those who have lost patients, loved ones, and much more. Know you are not alone, and that the College is here for you. We started this journey together and we will get through it together.
