Heart House Becomes Town Hall

The Obama administration put out a challenge to citizens across the country to answer a dozen pressing questions for which they need the public’s feedback to promote health system reform.

Apparently, thousands of these "town hall calls" are being held this month with the feedback going to Sen. Daschle and his team. ACC held one at Heart House this past Monday, chaired by Past Presidents Tim Garson and Jim Dove, co-chairs of the ACC Blue Ribbon Panel (BRP) and attended by many of the BRP members, along with others from the community and staff.

The goal of the call was to define the ACC’s key role in health system reform. It’s clear that the College will address many elements of reform, including health IT adoption and enhanced access. But the outcome of the call was that our greatest strength is in helping to figure out how physicians will be paid.
