Welcome to ACC.10 and i2 Summit 2010!
Tomorrow I leave for Atlanta to officially begin ACC.10 and i2 Summit craziness. This year's meeting will be the most innovative yet – there are many new features that distinguish it from previous years. There's the hybrid OR suite, which features the newest technology to hit the market; the posters organized in groups of five by subject area so you can find information and presenters in the areas you're interested in; the mock D2B sessions; competency-based learning for MOC credit (where you take a pre-test to determine your areas of educational need); and so much more.
Whether you're in Atlanta or watching from the Web, there are a number of ways you can keep informed.
- As always, complete coverage of the major trials is available from Cardiosource.com. Check here daily for trial summaries, slides and CVN videos.
- Eye accounts of the meeting (from yours truly) will be available beginning today and lasting for about a week. Subscribe to this blog by entering your email on the right, or by putting our feed in your RSS reader.
- Watch for updates on Twitter. You can get the official highlights from @ACC_10, or if you're feeling adventurous, do a search for #ACC10 to see what all of Twitter is saying about the meeting. Also, for the first time this year, the meeting co-chairs are tweeting. We've put them in a Twitter list for your convenience.
- Also for the first time this year, we're holding a contest for the best photo from the meeting. The winner gets an Amazon Kindle loaded with a one-year subscription to JACC (I might note that JACC is the second journal to be on Kindle, and only second to the New England Journal of Medicine – not too shabby). Visit our Facebook fan page beginning on Sunday to enter your photos and view the competition.
As we've been saying for the last year (and as you can clearly see from above), “The future of cardiology awaits you in Atlanta...” Hope to see you there!
