We Have Much to be Thankful For
As the country prepares to participate in the tradition of giving thanks, spending time with loved ones near and far, and enjoying turkey dinners, I want to express my gratitude for all of the ACC’s leaders, members, staff, partners, and all who are involved in sharing the College’s mission of transforming cardiovascular care and improving heart health.
By now most of you have probably heard that the College’s old headquarters building in Bethesda, MD – the original Heart House – was finally sold. As approved by the Board of Trustees, the property was sold to Streetscape Properties, LLC , a real estate developer. The property has always been zoned for single family homes and ACC operated as a non-profit organization under a Special Exception granted by the county. Streetscape will utilize the property for which it was zoned and build single family homes.
I am thankful for the fond memories of attending sessions and meetings at the old headquarters, and am thankful that those of us in cardiology have a Heart House – somewhere we can call home.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and agree that we have so much to be thankful for.
