Gun violence is a topic that is heavy on all our minds. The tragic events of the past few weeks have emphasized what was already clear – our nation must come together to find a way to eliminate, or at bare minimum, mitigate, these repeated tragedies.

Last year the College, through the work of the Health Affairs Committee and the Board of Trustees, released a statement that ACC will join with its colleagues throughout the medical community to encourage a national conversation to advance research and promote solutions to the scourge of gun violence. This conversation must continue in earnest. It is a topic that is absolutely in our lane and one we collectively can't afford to ignore.
