Depression is frequently underdiagnosed and undertreated in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), but effective treatment of depression can improve cardiac outcomes, mortality, and quality of life. This article reviews current recommendations for the screening, diagnosis, and management of depression in patients with CAD.
