DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nWebinar Overview\nThis webinar addresses key factors of t
he evolution and current state of critical care cardiology as a specialty
in Latin America. Discussions will focus on expert opinion\, contemporary
local studies and evidence published in the field highlighting present-day
needs and the challenges that clinicians\, trainees and cardiovascular te
am members face in the care of the patient with acute cardiovascular disea
se in Latin American countries.\n\nIssues and solutions discussed in the w
ebinar will benefit the clinical and academic communities in Latin America
thus translating into improving patient care\, better access to medical t
herapies and inclusion of patients from Latin American countries in resear
ch endeavors to better understand how science can be adapted to their loca
 l needs.\n\nKey Objectives/Learning Outcomes: \n\nTo further awareness of
how acute cardiovascular conditions affect the population in Latin America
by highlighting epidemiological data regarding acute myocardial infarctio
 n\, cardiogenic shock\, cardiac arrest\, endocarditis\, ventricular arrhyt
hmias\, and any other conditions requiring CICU admission in Latin America
\nTo inform clinicians\, trainees and cardiovascular team members about t
he numerous opportunities and venues available through ACC membership to e
 nhance their academic\, professional\, and networking opportunities \nTo r
eview the biggest challenges for practicing clinicians\, cardiovascular te
am members\, and hospital leaders to provide appropriate care in critical
care cardiology in Latin America and discuss strategies to help address th
ose challenges and improve patient care and medical education through coll
aborative networking and mentoring through the ACC \nTo discuss strategies
to improve access to education in critical care cardiology to medical stu
 dents\, residents\, fellows\, nurses\, technicians and practicing clinicia
ns tailored to the needs of the region\, including online teaching\, hands
-on simulation training\, consulting\, lectures and webinar series address
ing various key topics in critical care cardiology \nTo brainstorm ideas t
o improve collaboration and networking between the ACC Critical Care Cardi
ology Section and the national and regional cardiology and critical care s
ocieties in Latin American countries \nTo assess the most pressing researc
h needs in critical care cardiology in Latin America while exploring ways
to enhance research endeavors\, including the development of local registr
ies\, clinical trials and greater participation of Latin American countrie
s with current ongoing research projects associated with the ACC and ACC c
ritical care cardiology council \nTo propose a framework to develop and ex
ecute conference and lectures\, led by the ACC\, addressing topics in crit
ical care cardiology tailored to Latin America \nTo promote the educationa
l and scientific mission of the ACC as a global partner and the role of JA
CC family journals to enhance education and science \n\n\nWebinar Recordin
