Vaani P Garg, MD

Professional Bio:

Vaani Panse Garg, MD is a graduate of Tufts University with a degree in Spanish. She earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and thereafter moved to New York City for training. Dr. Garg completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and her Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship in the Clinical Track at Mount Sinai Hospital, in joint training with Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens. She served as Chief Cardiology Fellow in both her second and third years of training. Dr. Garg joined as faculty at BronxCare Hospital, in affiliation with the Icahn School of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Medicine. She served as Associate Program Director for the Mount Sinai Morningside-BronxCare cardiology fellowship program. In September 2019, Dr. Garg returned to the Mount Sinai Health System with a similar academic appointment, transitioning to Associate Program Director for the Mount Sinai Morningside cardiology fellowship program. Clinically, Dr. Garg is actively involved in both outpatient and inpatient diagnosis and management of all aspects of general cardiology. She also works as one of the core team of echocardiographers for Mount Sinai Morningside, adept at transthoracic, transesophageal and 3-D imaging. Her research interests include novel teaching approaches in medical education, echocardiography, and trainee wellness and mentorship.
