WASHINGTON (May 17, 2018) -

For the third year in a row, the American College of Cardiology was selected by Modern Healthcare as one of the 2018 Best Places to Work in Healthcare.

“ACC is one of the best places to work in health care because of the passion and commitment the staff have in realizing our mission to transform cardiovascular care and improve heart health,” said ACC Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer Cathleen C. Gates. “We are honored to be recognized again for our work in ensuring cardiovascular disease patients get the best possible care and for providing our staff a work environment that supports their wellness and work-life balance.”

This award program identifies and recognizes outstanding employers in the health care industry nationwide. Modern Healthcare partners with the Best Companies Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey.

In 2017, ACC was ranked 32 out of 100 best places to work in health care in the healthcare supplier category. ACC was also ranked the No. 4 healthiest place to work in health care. In 2016, ACC was named No. 27 in the top 100 best places to work list. ACC will be recognized and learn its 2018 ranking during the 2018 Best Places to Work in Healthcare awards gala on Sept. 27, 2018, at the Renaissance Dallas.

“Whether on the frontline or in the top office, healthcare employees witness moments that can either inspire or dishearten them. That can take a toll on an individual and healthcare organizations must take extra steps to ensure that highs and lows during the workday don’t impact engagement or performance,” said Modern Healthcare Editor Aurora Aguilar. “This year’s best places to work, voted on by the employees themselves, exemplify what it takes to maintain dedication and satisfaction among its employees and that is the key to good patient care. Congratulations to this year’s winners and we look forward to celebrating with you in September.”
