Join ACC's Cardiovascular Imaging and Sports and Exercise Member Sections for a webinar exploring the role of multimodality imaging in the evaluation of athletes with cardiovascular findings that may represent either normal adaptation or underlying disease. Faculty will discuss practical approaches using echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) to evaluate excessive trabeculation, hypertrophy and myocarditis in athletes. Through case presentations and an interactive panel discussion, attendees will learn how to recognize important imaging findings, assess risk and approach complex return-to-play decisions.
Key Objectives/Learning Outcomes:
- Distinguish physiologic athlete's remodeling from pathology using echo, CMR and CPET, especially in excessive trabeculation and hypertrophy.
- Apply practical, imaging-led algorithms to triage athletes with suspected myocarditis and determine return-to-play readiness.
- Recognize red flags including arrhythmia, late gadolinium enhancement patterns and abnormal strain/diastology, that escalate management or restrict participation.
