Priority clinical areas are defined as clinical conditions, diseases or symptom complexes and associated advanced diagnostic imaging services identified by CMS through annual rulemaking and in consultation with stakeholders. The full list is available here.
Of the priority clinical areas defined by CMS, ACC has developed AUC which address coronary artery disease (suspected or diagnosed). The following ACC-developed AUC are relevant and address diagnosis and treatment of CAD:

- 2016 Appropriate Use Criteria for Coronary Revascularization in Patients With Acute Coronary Syndromes
- 2013 Multimodality Appropriate Use Criteria for the Detection and Risk Assessment of Stable Ischemic Heart Disease
