What is the ACC Innovation Program?
The ACC Innovation Program is working to lead the digital transformation of cardiovascular health care delivery. Under the guidance of the College’s Strategic Plan, the ACC Innovation Program ties together surveillance, engagement, thought leadership, and collaborations with industry and academic institutions to improve cardiovascular care. The team relies on the experience and expertise of the ACC membership to advance projects and initiatives that ultimately optimize cardiovascular care and outcomes.

Institute for Computational Health Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) Symposium
The American College of Cardiology (ACC) convened the Institute for Computational Health Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) Symposium on December 4, 2019. The invitation-only event brought together representatives from medical professional societies, industry, patient/consumer driven organizations, hospitals/health systems and other stakeholders to discuss current challenges in the application of artificial intelligence to improve cardiovascular care and optimize health outcomes. The Institute for Computational Health (ICH), a joint effort between the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Yale University Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation, hosted the event at the ACC Heart House in Washington, DC.
The Symposium was led by ACC's Chief Innovation Officer and Chief Science and Quality Officer John S. Rumsfeld, MD, PhD, FACC, as well as Vice President: Dipti Itchhaporia, MD, FACC, and Harlan Krumholz, MD, SM, FACC. Other member participants included ACC Innovation Council members Heba Wassif, MD, FACC, and Jai Nahar, MD, FACC, as well as ACC members Rohan Khera, MD, FACC, Freddy Abnousi, MD, FACC, and Khurram Nasir, MD, FACC.

Disruptive Innovations in Health Care Conference
The ACC collaborated with the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) on the Disruptive Innovations in Health Care track at this year’s CES (Consumer Electronics Show) conference in Las Vegas, held on Jan. 7-10.
