AI For CAD Detection
Webinar Overview
Untapping the full potential of opportunistic detection of subclinical atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease using artificial intelligence (AI).
Subclinical atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) often remains undetected until it manifests as acute cardiovascular events. Advancements in AI have enabled the opportunistic detection of ASCVD using imaging modalities performed for other clinical indications, such as non-electrocardiogram (ECG) gated chest computed tomography (CT). This session, hosted by ACC's Health Care Innovation Member Section, will explore the integration of AI algorithms in analyzing routine imaging studies to identify incidental findings indicative of ASCVD, thereby facilitating early intervention and improved patient outcomes.
Key Objectives/Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the role of AI in analyzing non-ECG gated chest CT scans for the opportunistic detection of coronary artery calcium and its clinical implications.
- Explore the application of AI-enhanced imaging technologies in identifying subclinical ASCVD during routine non-cardiac imaging procedures.
- Discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating AI-based opportunistic screening into clinical workflows.
- Evaluate the impact of early detection of subclinical ASCVD on patient management and outcomes.
