Eagle’s Eye View: Underdiagnosis of AFib in Black Adults; Echocardiographic Evaluation; CAC Scores in Young Adults; Add-On Treatments For Resistant Hypertension
In this week’s View, Dr. Eagle looks at how black adults in disadvantaged neighborhoods are less likely to be diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AFib). He then examines the parameters used to detect mitral regurgitation and how they might be improved. He follows that with a look at how high coronary artery calcium scores (CAC) in young adults can signal higher 30-year mortality. Finally, Dr. Eagle offers a comparison of add-on treatments for resistant or uncontrolled hypertension (HTN).
