Compared with urban dwellers, rural community dwellers living with heart failure (HF) face higher rates of health disparities in terms of being uninsured and having poor access to medical providers, especially specialists, and tend to have lower socioeconomic status. Although the influence of demographic and clinical factors on high-impact HF outcomes such as death and rehospitalization was identified in the literature, little is known about the influence of lifestyle variables, and sedentary lifestyle in particular, among rural dwellers with HF.
