Live Session at ACC.20/WCC: Improving How We Communicate CVD Risk to Patients

Cardiology Magazine Image

As clinicians, we spend a lot of time thinking and talking about risk. While risk-related concepts may seem clear to us, they can register with patients as a confusing assortment of jargon and numbers. Moreover, patients' comprehension of and reactions to risk are influenced by a host of factors that are not always well understood by clinicians.

Our patients' understanding of their personal cardiovascular risk is central to shared decision-making, treatment initiation and adherence.

Join us at ACC.20 Together With World Congress of Cardiology for an interactive session on how to improve risk communication in practice. Experts will discuss cognitive biases, risk scores and making numbers meaningful. Discussions will be followed by a role play with audience participation encouraged.

When: Saturday, March 28, from 6 – 8 p.m. CT
Where: Marriot Marquis Chicago
