ACC-Supported Radiation Safety Coalition Seeks Clinician Input

The ACC and the ALARA+ Coalition are seeking input from cardiovascular clinicians and health care facility administrators to help better understand the real-world impacts of occupational radiation exposure and inform future workplace safety efforts.

In collaboration with Occupational Radiation Safety in Interventional Fluoroscopy (ORSIF), the College is working on updating a 2018 study examining economic impacts of occupational radiation exposure among health care professionals who perform or participate in diagnostic and interventional fluoroscopy-guided procedures.

The health care landscape continues to evolve, including changes in procedural volumes, technologies, workforce demographics, clinical practice patterns and awareness of radiation exposure. The updated research is intended to provide contemporary data that can help inform occupational safety initiatives.

Health care facility administrators and medical professionals who perform or participate in fluoroscopy-guided procedures are encouraged to participate. Feedback will help ensure the experiences of medical professionals are represented. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary, and responses will be used only for research purposes associated with the study.

Take the ORSIF survey by Nov. 17.
