Professional Bio:

Mohammad Madjid, MD, MS, FACC, FAHA, FSCAI is an Interventional Cardiologist and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Madjid has received his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and has practiced clinical medicine over 15 years in US. He has studied internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, followed by fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology at Texas Heart Institute/St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, also in Houston, TX. He has received five medical board certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Adult Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. He is fully trained in all aspects of interventional cardiology including complex coronary artery interventions, peripheral vascular interventions, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure. Dr. Madjid has also received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research from the Center for Clinical Research & Evidence-Based Medicine at the University of Texas at Houston Health Science Center. Before joining UCLA, he has served as an Interventional Cardiologist and Associate Professor of Medicine at McGovern Medical School, in Houston, TX. Prior to that, he had served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at McGovern Medical School, and also a Senior Research Scientist at Texas Heart Institute, Houston, TX. Dr. Madjid has extensively researched and published on cardiovascular risk factors, atherosclerosis, and vascular inflammation. He is nationally and internationally recognized for his research on the effect of influenza and COVID-19 infections on cardiovascular system. He has served as a member of the guideline committees for American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Heart Association (AHA), and US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In parallel with his research activities, he enjoys running a busy clinical practice at UCLA.
