Michael Montgomery, MS

Professional Bio:

Michael “Mike” Montgomery originally hails from Knob Noster, Missouri. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1979 as well as an ROTC commission in the United States Army, serving as a Medical Service Corps officer for 24 years before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. While in the Army, Mike was inducted into the Order of Military Medical Merit and had the honor of serving at numerous military installations in the continental United States and abroad. During his military career, he received a Master of Science in Business Administration from Boston University. In 2003, Mike began his private sector career serving as Director of Surgical Services at a hospital system in Honolulu, HI for approximately two years before returning to the continental US to assume a similar role at a community hospital in Lawrence, MA. He served in this role for approximately one year before accepting a position in cardiovascular administration at a major academic institution in Boston, MA. Mike has had over 15 years of experience in cardiovascular service line leadership positions. He currently serves as the System Director for CV Quality, Transformation & Innovation at the Lee Health Heart Institute in Fort Myers, FL. In 2019, Mike was nominated to serve as a National Cardiovascular Data Registry Oversight Committee member for the American College of Cardiology (ACC). Mike is also a member of the ACC CV Dyad Leadership Workgroup. Finally, Mike is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. His hobbies include fitness, playing golf, reading, and music.
