Paul L Douglass, MD, MACC

Professional Bio:

Dr. Douglass practices Clinical and Interventional Cardiology with Wellstar Medical Group, Center for Cardiovascular Care, and serves as Clinical Assistant Professor (Cardiology) at Morehouse School of Medicine. He is currently on the Board of Trustees for Wellstar Health System and serves on the Executive Committee. In 2020 and 2021 he was named to the Top Docs list by Georgia Trend magazine, and he was named by Atlanta magazine as a Top Doctor in Cardiovascular Disease in 2022 and 2023. He received the National Medical Association Region III Award of Excellence in 2019. He is the current Chair of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Health Equity Task Force, a member of the ACC Industry Advisory Forum, and a past Chair of the ACC Publications and Editorial Coordinating Committee. In 2015 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia Chapter of the ACC for his dedication and service to cardiovascular medicine. He was named a Master of the American College of Cardiology in 2016 for his lifelong contributions to cardiology and the ACC. He currently serves on the American Heart Association Heart Failure Systems of Care Advisory Group. Dr. Douglass has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally on various topics related to cardiovascular diseases with a special interest in cardiovascular diseases in African-Americans and other underrepresented minorities.
