In November 2018, the annual ACC Washington State Chapter meeting took place at the Bellevue Marriott Hotel in Bellevue, WA. The keynote speaker was ACC Vice President Richard J. Kovacs, MD, FACC, from the Indiana University School of Medicine. During the meeting, we held our own ACC CV Team session. Speakers – including Deanna M. Tregoning, ARNP, MSN; Katie J. Bates, ARNP, DNP; Jennifer A. Beckman MSN, ANRP, AACC; and Joel J. Rhyner, PA – discussed advocating for nutrition and dietary education in the cardiovascular patient, the role of health literacy in improving cardiovascular health, and expanding the role of advanced practice providers in outpatient and inpatient settings. It was an informative session for the ACC CV Team Washington State Chapter, and we are excited to meet again and further our involvement with the College.
