Journal Scan | Insufficient Calorie Intake Worsens QoL and Increases Readmissions in Patients With HF

Patients with heart failure (HF) are instructed to reduce sodium intake. This may inadvertently lead to insufficient caloric intake in patients with HF, including those who are obese. The authors found that insufficient calorie intake was associated with poor quality of life at discharge, increased risk for readmission, and longer rehospitalization days.
