The American College of Cardiology has censured Dr. Marcus Stoddard M.D., FACC for violating Sections 6.4 and 6.5 of the ACC Code of Ethics. The Board of Trustees found that Dr. Stoddard violated Section 6.4, which provides that “Expert Witness Testimony should be fair, accurate, though, and objective” and Section 6.5, which provides that ”a member appearing as an expert witness must identify personal opinions not generally accepted by other cardiologists”. The College’s Bylaws define censure as “a written judgment, condemning the member’s actions as wrong. This is a firm reprimand.”

If you desire to review the final written disposition of this case, a formal written request must be made to ACC’s Legal Affairs department at American College of Cardiology Attn: Legal Affairs Department 2400 N Street NW Washington, DC 20037. In accordance with Section IX of the Code of Ethics only ACC members may receive a copy of the final written disposition.
