Important Updates:

• A new "knowledge check-in" (KCI) option for MOC assessment will be available for Cardiovascular Disease in 2019, followed by Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Interventional Cardiology in 2020, and Adult Congenital Heart Disease in 2023. The KCI option is a home or office computer-based, monitored assessment that will be offered on a two-year cycle. Until then, Diplomates need to continue to take the 10-year exam.
• The ACC will launch two variations of its new ACCSAP in 2019 to meet the needs of members seeking an alternative to ABIM, as well as those participating in ABIM's MOC process. More information on these variations and how they will work will be provided in the coming months.
• The ACC is working closely with the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention (SCAI), the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS), and the Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) to create self-assessment products that could fulfill ABIM MOC assessment requirements for interventionalists, electrophysiologists, and heart failure specialists.
