A 78-year-old man presents with a severely dilated cardiomyopathy and multiple episodes of slow ventricular tachycardia (VT), and undergoes implantation of an EpicTM dual-chamber implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD). He was seen in consultation after receiving an electrical shock. Although the patient did not feel any dizziness or lipothymia before the shock delivery, he experienced shortness of breath.
