JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging

The Publications Committee of the American College of Cardiology is pleased to announce the search for a successor Editor-in-Chief for JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging and is seeking applications for the position.

JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging has rapidly become one of the most prominent titles in Cardiology and maintains the highest impact factor of all journals in Radiology. JACC Cardiovascular Imaging publishes research articles on current and future clinical applications of noninvasive and invasive imaging techniques including echocardiography, CT, CMR, nuclear, angiography and other novel techniques. The journal also publishes manuscripts related to basic science and molecular imaging with potential clinical applicability. It provides a forum for encouraging a lively and vigorous debate on all aspects of imaging, including imaging algorithms and the hierarchy of various imaging modalities.

The new editor's term will begin in January 2017, with the first issue being published in July 2017.

Qualifications:

  • Current academic appointment in cardiovascular medicine
  • Current clinical practice in the full range and scope of cardiovascular imaging
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of the field of cardiovascular imaging, its leadership and current trends and advances
  • Substantial experience in writing, editing and reviewing scientific articles
  • Understanding and appreciation for research, and strong evidence of scholarly pursuits
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and manage tasks associated with journal publication and production
  • Demonstrated ability in administration and leadership
  • Intention to cultivate the journal as a primary interest; estimated time commitment: 30%
  • Understanding of and appreciation for the potential and possibilities of new media, digital and electronic publication
  • The ideal candidate will have served in a significant leadership role in a journal, e.g., Editor, Associate Editor or Assistant Editor

JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions has rapidly become one of the most prominent titles in Cardiology, currently ranked 7th in Impact Factor amongst 123 journals in the Cardiovascular Medicine category. JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions encompasses the entire field of interventional cardiovascular medicine, including cardiac (coronary and non-coronary) peripheral and cerebrovascular interventions. The journal publishes studies that will impact the practice of interventional cardiovascular medicine including clinical trials that provide evidence to inform and alter practice guidelines; experimental studies that point to improved technologies and mechanistic understanding; and in-depth discussions of topics of interest by respected experts in the field.
