The Florida Chapter of the ACC recently partnered with National ACC to host the "Blueprint for Cardiovascular Care: Navigating from Volume to Value" forum which brought together Chapter leaders and representatives from Florida health plans, employer coalitions, health systems and cardiovascular practices for a daylong meeting in Orlando. During the forum, the groups shared their perspectives on value and plans for moving toward value based purchasing with new payment models, accountable care organizations, and patient and provider incentives. The participants discussed opportunities for the Florida Chapter and its members to collaborate on cardiovascular-focused payment models, quality initiatives, and preauthorization decision-making. This effort was spearheaded by Florida Chapter leaders including, Rishi Anand, MD, FACC, chair of payer relations and healthcare economics, Allen Seals, MD, FACC, governor-elect, and Juan Aranda, MD, FACC, governor.
