ACC Around the World | Colombia recently became ACC’s 35th International Chapter, making it the second ACC Chapter in Formation to become a full-fledged Chapter. Under the leadership of the president of the Colombian Society of Cardiology, Gustavo Restrepo, MD, FACC, the Colombia Chapter worked diligently throughout 2014 to increase its ACC membership and reach the 20 Fellow of the ACC requirements for Chapter formation. “We are proud to be an ACC Chapter and believe this will be a great opportunity to expand and strengthen our academic community and work jointly for the cardiovascular health of our countries,” said Restrepo, who will serve as the Chapter’s inaugural governor.
