Rep. Tom Price, MD, Confirmed as HHS Secretary

The Senate on Feb. 10 confirmed Georgia congressman Tom Price, MD, as the new secretary of U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) in a 52-47 vote. Price, who was sworn into office shortly after the Senate vote, was nominated to lead HHS by President Donald Trump in late November 2016.

“The ACC has long worked with Tom Price both before and during his tenure in Congress. We congratulate him on his confirmation as the Secretary of HHS,” said ACC President Richard A. Chazal, MD, FACC. “The College looks forward to maintaining a productive dialogue with HHS as we all work together to provide quality care to our patients.”
