Eagle’s Eye View: Dedicated to Our Dear Friend and ACC Colleague, Steve Kerchner

This week’s Eagle’s Eye View is dedicated to a beloved member of the ACC community, Steve Kerchner. Steve in many ways has been the face, heart and driving force behind the College’s digital transformation. We lost Steve last week after a valiant battle with cancer. He will always be part of our community at ACC.org.

In this week’s View, Dr. Eagle explores the efficacy of early catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation after admission for heart failure. He then discusses the development and validation of the DOAC score, a novel bleeding risk prediction tool for patients with atrial fibrillation on direct-acting oral anticoagulants. Finally, Dr. Eagle examines the COAPT Post-Approval Study of transcatheter edge-to-edge repair in patients with secondary mitral regurgitation.
