ACC.24: Here at Last!

After months of crafting and planning (and decades of innovating), the stage is set for this year's Annual Scientific Session (ACC.24) in Atlanta from April 6-8.

The ACC's foremost venue for sharing the latest new science, showcasing cutting-edge innovation and fostering connections among cardiovascular clinicians from around the world, ACC.24 will not disappoint. Coinciding with the College's 75th anniversary, ACC.24 will be inspiring, invigorating and daring, say the leaders of this year's meeting in our cover story.

"The past seven decades have brought tremendous transformation in live education at the ACC Scientific Session," says ACC Scientific Session Chair Douglas Drachman, MD, FACC. "We are literally bursting with excitement for everyone to see what's in store in Atlanta."

This month's issue provides an "Insider's Guide" to the three-day event, which kicks off with an exciting Opening Showcase on Saturday, April 6 at 8:30 a.m., hosted by B. Hadley Wilson, MD, FACC, followed by the first Late-Breaking Clinical Trial session, and closes out on Monday afternoon with Convocation followed by the New Fellows and Associates Reception and 75th Anniversary Celebration.

Check out the lineup of Late-Breaking Clinical Trials, inspiring Keynotes, Joint Symposia, Heart2Heart Stage discussions and more. Also don't miss overviews of the fun, interactive learning sessions taking place in the April Adventure area and get a sneak peek at activities slated for the Lounge & Learn Pavilion and the Expo. Also, in the Pulse of ACC, see the slate of 2024 Distinguished Award winners who will be recognized on Monday during Convocation, and learn how you can take part in the College's first-ever Giving Day.

Also in this issue, we recognize three sister societies – the American Heart Association, Association of Black Cardiologists and Irish Cardiac Society – who are also celebrating milestone anniversaries this year, and we hear from the ACC's Women in Cardiology Section about their history of driving change within the College and the profession, including working to bring more women into the field.

Enjoy all this and more inside the following pages. More importantly we hope you enjoy ACC.24! As always, please send your thoughts and feedback to CardiologyEditor@acc.org and don't forget to share links to your favorite articles on social media using #CardiologyMag.
