ACC CardiaCast: Heart Vision: Advanced Imaging in Cardiovascular Infection

“Heart Vision” is a new CardiaCast podcast series stemming from the ACC Cardiovascular Imaging Section Leadership Council. This podcast series will tackle topics on emerging multimodality imaging data, trends, practice patterns, disease status and advocacy effort.

In this episode, Drs. Jamie Bourque and Matthew Parker discuss the multimodality assessment of suspected or known cardiovascular infection, including:

  • the application, strength, and limitations of echocardiography
  • when additional advanced imaging can be helpful for patient management
  • assessment of extracardiac manifestations of cardiovascular infection
  • the role of radionuclide imaging in native valve endocarditis
