Contact amurphy@acc.org

The ACC's Communications Department provides a number of services to the media, including news releases, journal articles, a press kit, and other resources. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Media Resource List

The ACC maintains a list of Fellows of the College who are willing to provide information to the media in their area of expertise in cardiovascular medicine and current health issues. We can provide contacts for a wide range of topics, including prevention, heart disease in women or the elderly, lipid-lowering therapies, high blood pressure, cholesterol, surgery, ethics, workforce and training issues, and many others.

News Releases

Every month, the ACC distributes highlights of selected studies from our journal, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC). These highlights are available on our home page, or can be sent to media representatives via e-mail. To be put on our list, send your request to amurphy@acc.org. Full copies of articles can be obtained by e-mail (amurphy@acc.org) and look for selected articles on the JACC home page.

Annual Scientific Session

The College provides extensive facilities for the media at its Annual Scientific Session. This includes daily news conferences, news releases, information on major clinical trials, and more. The ACC Newsroom is equipped with computers (complete with Internet access), telephones, faxes, photocopiers, modem access, and a variety of other services. In addition, information from the ACC media kit and audio copies of news conferences are available through the media section. News conferences are recorded in Real Audio® format and are available immediately following a news conference. The next meeting will be held on March 24 – 27, 2007, in New Orleans, LA.

The media can also receive a complimentary subscription to Cardiosource, the ACC's new partner and the only site for full-text access to some of the world's best known cardiovascular journals including JACC and the ACC Current Journal Review.
