Henry I. Russek Travel Awards for FITs and Medical Students

Description: The award honors Dr. Henry I. Russek, who served as director of the New York Cardiovascular Symposium, an ACC extramural program, for 25 years. The award provides funding for eight FIT members and five medical students from NJ, NY, or CT with an interest in cardiovascular medicine to attend this seminar held December 9-11, 2016 in New York City. Eligibility: All current ACC FIT members are eligible. No more than one award will be granted from any single training program. Medical Students from local New York City Medical Schools may also apply.

The Award: Eight FIT members of the ACC will receive reimbursement for travel expenses up to $1,250 each. FIT Awardees will also receive complementary registration to attend the New York Cardiovascular Symposium.

Five medical students from NJ, NY, or CT will receive reimbursement for travel expenses up to $800 each. Medical Student awardees will also receive complementary registration to attend the New York Cardiovascular Symposium.

NCDR/ACCF Travel Awards for the Annual Scientific Session

Travel Award offered to ACC.17

This award will recognize accomplished young cardiologists who have successfully published a manuscript as a primary author from an NCDR funded research project. Three travel awards will be provided to those were fellows in training at time of publication. Criteria for selection will include significance of manuscript topic, level of authorship, and publication source. Applicants eligible for the award are those who:

1. Were primary author on a published NCDR manuscript between September 2015 and September 2016
2. Were or are an FIT at time of publication
3. Published a manuscript following an accepted application through NCDR’s Research and Publications process

Travel expenses up to $1,500 will be provided for up to 7 awardees to attend ACC.17 and NCDR.17 in Washington, DC.  Reimbursable expenses include coach airfare, accommodations and meals.

FIT Travel Awards to ACC's 2016 Legislative Conference

Description: The ACC has made a select number of travel awards available to cover expenses for fellows in training (FITs) to travel to ACC’s 2016 Legislative Conference in Washington, DC. The award provides funding for airfare, lodging and other expenses to and from the Conference held Sept. 11 – 13, 2016.

Eligibility: All current FIT members are eligible to apply. No more than one award will be granted from any single training program.

Description: The ACC has made a select number of travel awards available to cover expenses for Early Career members to travel to ACC's 2016 Legislative Conference in Washington, DC. The award provides funding for airfare, lodging and other expenses to and from the Conference held Sept. 11-13, 2016.

Eligibility: All current Early Career members are eligible to apply. Award recipients may not have received a legislative travel award in the past year.

The Award: Travel expenses will be reimbursed for airfare, lodging and other expenses up to $1,000 for travel to and from ACC's 2016 Legislative Conference in Washington, DC Sept. 11-13, 2016.

Cardiovascular Team Travel Awards to ACC's 2016 Legislative Conference

Description: The ACC has a limited number of travel awards available to cover expenses for Cardiovascular Team members to travel to ACC’s 2016 Legislative Conference in Washington, DC. The award provides funding for airfare, lodging and other expenses to and from the Conference held Sept. 11 – 13, 2016.

Eligibility: Eligibility is limited to Cardiovascular Team members of the ACC. Awardees will be selected via random drawing; however, no more than one CV Team member from a single state will receive an award.

The Award: Travel expenses will be reimbursed for airfare, lodging and other expenses up to $1,000 for travel to and from ACC’s 2016 Legislative Conference in Washington, DC, Sept. 11 – 13, 2016.

Presenters and non-presenters at ACC.16 are both eligible. No more than one award will be granted from any single training program.

George L. Smith, Jr and Nancy Doyle Smith Travel Awards for ACC.16

CVT Travel Awards for ACC.16

Description: Six (6) applicants will be awarded travel expenses to attend the ACC.16 in Chicago, IL. Travel awards are available to Cardiovascular Team (CVT) members only.*

*Please note that only CVT members will be selected for this award. CVT members include registered nurses, clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and clinical pharmacists, technologists and cardiac rehabilitation professionals.

The Award: Each travel award will cover up to $1,000 per person in expenses and includes registration, transport and hotel. Awardees are reimbursed after the meeting and are required to submit the approved expense report template, which will be provided to all awardees. All relevant receipts should be submitted with the expense report. Note: Applicants must already be registered for the meeting to be considered.
