Colombia recently became ACC’s 35th International Chapter, making it the second ACC Chapter in Formation to become a full-fledged Chapter. Under the leadership of the president of the Colombian Society of Cardiology, Gustavo Restrepo, MD, FACC, the Colombia Chapter worked diligently throughout 2014 to increase its ACC membership and reach the 20 FACC requirements for Chapter formation. With the formal creation of the Chapter, Restrepo will continue his leadership as the Chapter’s inaugural governor. “We are proud to be an ACC Chapter and believe this will be a great opportunity to expand and strengthen our academic community and work jointly for the cardiovascular health of our countries,” said Restrepo.
